These Ghost Jello Shots are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties or themed gatherings. Made with green apple gelatin and vodka for an adult twist, these jello shots are set in ghost-shaped molds with optional black food coloring accents for a creepy, festive look.

Ingredients

Scale

Gelatin Mixture

  • 3.94 ounce box green apple gelatin (Sonic brand preferred)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vodka or cold water

Extras

  • Ghost mold (available on Amazon)
  • Black food coloring (optional)
  • Non-stick spray for mold

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mold: Spray the ghost mold lightly with non-stick spray to ensure easy removal of the jello shots once set.
  2. Dissolve Gelatin: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup of boiling water over the green apple gelatin powder. Stir thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  3. Add Liquid: Stir in 1/2 cup of vodka to the gelatin mixture. If you prefer non-alcoholic jello shots, substitute vodka with cold water instead.
  4. Add Color (Optional): If desired, add a few drops of black food coloring to the mixture to give your ghost jello a spooky hue. Stir gently to blend without overmixing.
  5. Fill the Mold: Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into the ghost-shaped mold cavities, filling each to the top.
  6. Refrigerate: Place the filled mold into the refrigerator and chill for at least 2-4 hours until the jello shots are fully set and firm.
  7. Remove from Mold: Once set, gently pop the ghost jello shots out of the mold. If they’re difficult to remove, briefly dipping the bottom of the mold in warm water can help release them.
  8. Serve: Arrange your ghost jello shots on a serving tray and enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of vodka to control the potency of the shots, but too much alcohol may prevent the gelatin from setting properly.
  • Using cold water instead of vodka makes these suitable for guests who prefer non-alcoholic options.
  • Non-stick spray is essential for easy removal; alternatively, lightly oiling the mold with a neutral oil works as well.
  • Be sure to let the jello shots chill long enough to fully set for best texture.
  • If you want to get creative, try using different gelatin flavors and matching colors to create a variety of spooky shapes.
