Ingredients

Scale

Spaghetti Crust

  • cooking spray
  • 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt

Topping

  • 1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • 4 ounces pepperoni sausage, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spaghetti: Cook the broken spaghetti pieces according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Make the Spaghetti Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, milk, beaten egg, salt, and garlic salt. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well integrated, forming a sticky, pizza crust-like mixture.
  3. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a pizza pan or baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  4. Form the Crust: Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly onto the prepared pan, pressing down firmly to create a compact, crust-like layer about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Add the Toppings: Evenly spread the jarred spaghetti sauce over the spaghetti crust. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Top with pepperoni slices, dried oregano, and dried basil evenly across the surface.
  6. Bake the Pizza: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden, and the toppings are heated through.
  7. Serve: Remove the spaghetti pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into wedges. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, consider broiling the spaghetti pizza for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Substitute pepperoni with other pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers for variety.
  • Use low-fat mozzarella and milk to reduce fat content.
  • Be sure to drain spaghetti well to avoid soggy crust.
