These Halloween Oreo Truffle Ghosts are a spooky and delicious treat perfect for Halloween parties. Made with crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese, coated in white candy melts, and decorated with black writing gel or candy eyes to create adorable ghost shapes.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 35 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz. white candy melts, white chocolate chips, or almond bark
  • Black writing gel or candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Mixture: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin. In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese until fully blended into a uniform dough-like consistency.
  2. Form the Ghost Shapes: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into small, oval-shaped balls resembling ghost shapes. Place them on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Melt the Candy Coating: Melt the white candy melts, white chocolate chips, or almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white coating until fully covered. Allow the excess to drip off, then place the coated truffles back onto the lined baking sheet.
  5. Decorate: Before the coating sets completely, use black writing gel to draw ghost faces or attach candy eyes to each truffle for a cute ghostly appearance.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Once firm, they are ready to serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute the white candy melts with almond bark or white chocolate chips depending on your preference and availability.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • For extra stability, refrigerate the truffles both before and after coating.
  • Use edible candy markers or food coloring pens as an alternative to writing gel for decorating.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
