Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped (rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Assembly

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls (8-count)

Optional Garnish

  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature while you prepare the dish.
  2. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded or chopped cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined to create a creamy filling.
  3. Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles as per package instructions.
  4. Assemble the Bake: On a baking sheet, arrange the crescent roll triangles with the wide end toward you. Spoon an equal amount of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll the Crescents: Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end to the narrow point, encasing the filling completely. Place the rolls seam side down on the baking sheet to prevent them from opening during baking.
  6. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the rolled crescents.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh pop of color before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or cream of celery for a different flavor.
  • Using rotisserie chicken speeds up preparation, but leftover cooked chicken works just as well.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
  • Serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to maintain crispness.
